Is a NIB 09 Saros worth $100?

Yes.  I like mine as much as my Stradics.  The difference in weight is negligible.

x2.  I got a Saros for the same price and I think it's a steal.  I also have a Stradic and notice little difference.

great deal on a saros.  I like that reel better than my stradic reels.  For the price, it can't be beat.

Agreed. That's what I paid for mine and I think it is an excellent spinning reel. Best performance/cost ratio in the Shimano lineup IMO.

I've got 5 of them and love 'em. Very smooth reel and the drag works flawlessly which is one of the most important things on a spinning reel.
