All around baitcater & Rod combo??

Featured Replies

I have a spinning reel & rod that works well for me when I'm throwing lighter lures or soft plastics.

Looking for some input for a all around baitcasting reel & rod combo. I use a lot of spinnerbaits, jigs & crankbaits. don't have alot of money to spend on multiple reels & rods so, I'm looking for that baitcaster that can do the job well.

Looking to spend about $100.  :-/

i would however spend that hundred bucks on just the reel itself. if you get a semi cheap reel, its going to seem like you have to relearn when you upgrade.go ahead if you can and get something that does the job really well. it will be less effort for you to learn to throw with a baitcaster, speeding the process. assuming you dont have experience with a bc'er

with only 100 bucks wait til BPS has big sale at end of month and you can probably get an extreme rod and reel for 100 bucks.. which is a steal..

I would put this in the fishing rods, reels and line forum

Watch eBay or Craigslist and pickup a used Revo and a decent rod. Personally, I love the Loomis rods but they are not cheap.
