genious. pure genious. now if only my dad would part ways with one.

Cool! That's a great idea!

The only thing I've really gerry-rigged was recent.  This past summer I was crabbing and my trap line broke and the trap sunk out of site about 10 yards from shore in the muddy oozing jersey marsh...  Instead of swimming for it I used another spool of twine and tied a bunch of weights and hooks together and made a grappling hook type thingy.  I threw it in a bunch of times like that crabbers on 'The Deadliest Catch' and eventually snagged my trap.  It saved me from having to spend 10 bucks for a new trap.
