Fuj ACS B/C Reel Seat

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to get opinions if you guys either like or dislike the ACS reel seat.

How do you compare to the Fuji ECS reel seat?

I guess I am asking you think the ACS is as comfortable, good ergonomics, sensitivity as the ECS?

I'm not sold on it just yet.  I do like it better for moving bait presentations than bottom contact baits - but I still prefer the ECS reel seat overall.  Something about the way I palm my reels when fishing bottom baits doesn't seem to feel right with the ACS reel seat.  It seems like quite a few companies are moving in that direction however. :-/

here's my opinion on this reel seat.  I have built a few rods with this reel seat and a few ones with the ECS reel seat, and I prefer the ECS reel seat better.  It all plays into how you hold your rod.  The ACS reel seat has those ribs on the back and it gets uncomfortable for your palm after a while, but the ECS is comfortable all day to me.  Others may have their opinion, but this is mine.

I find that the ACS forces you to hold the rod a certain way. My hands just don't fit in the grooves. I much prefer the ECS reel seats.

they way i palm my reel makes me love these reel seats . all the rods i have made for me will have this reel seat ( except spinning rods !!) it is all about how you hold the reel is what determines if you will like this reel seat . the way i palm my reel is i only have my ring finger and pinkie on the reel seat and even tho i have thick fingers , they fit perfectly  :D

Based on my limited experience, ACS is a big selling point for me.  It fits my hand perfectly and really forces me to make solid contact with the blank through the cutout.  I feel as though I have a firm grip on the rod without having to apply as much pressure.
