Use for St.roix Premier PC70MLF Bait Casting Rod?

Featured Replies

I was offered a great deal on a St Croix PC70MLF. My question is what is the best use for that rod. My first reaction is that it is a drop shot rod but I would rather use a spinning outfit for drop shotting. If you have used this rod I would apprciate your opinion.

Even though it has a fast action, at a ML power it might have enough flex to make a good small & shallow crankbait rod.

That's what I was thinking. Wouldn't be half bad for tossing balsa poppers and twitchbaits, either, although it is a little long.  I would personally put 8 lb. mono on it and use it for just that, Rapala Skitterpops and Floating Minnows
