I am thinking about using 12 lbs fluro or mono

should I use 10 lbs instead of 12 lbs

I will be throwing shalow to 6 foot cranks

    For the depths you describe, I don't think it much matters. Use what you have confidence in. I use 12# P-Line Fluoroclear for all my crankin'. I don't crank much deeper than 18 - 20 feet, and 12# works just fine for me.
