when i cast mine there very loud much like my daiwa's which is why i don't use them anymore but my 3 other bass pro reels one being the limited edition PQ and a extreme and wally Marshall are very quite i just got them a few days ago. its like a gear noise on the reel and cast hope somebody can help

Have you checked for lube on the bearings and spool shafts?  I have 5 PQs (and 2 Rick Clunns, 1 ProLite, 1 Carbonlite) and my PQs are just a quiet as the others  :-?

no i haven't because there brand new i guess i thought they would have been greased and oiled but i well check thank you i hope that's what it is and what oil would u recommend

Yikes - that can be a controversial subject. Search this forum on "reel oil" and see what you come up with. One thread on this topic was interesting enough that I saved the link in a file - check out:

I would take it back and exchange it. I think it is very likely a lubrication issue, but it's a new reel. More common is over-lubing on new reels.

I have three PQ's. Two were purchased early last year and have been used a lot. The other one only has a few months use, but all three are as smooth and quiet as they were out of the box.
