BCFR954 GLX Flippin stick

Featured Replies

Has anyone used this rod?  What does it excel at?  I'm looking for a flippin stick and my buddy said he would sell this one to me for $225 it's in mint condition he's only used it a couple times.  I need a rod I can flip with but also throw c-rigs and frogs.   Can I do all 3 with this rod?

I have this rod and use it solely for punching mats.  It excels at this.  I know J.P. DeRose uses this as his frog rod and I'm sure it would be a very good Carolina rod.  I think at that price, it is a no brainer.  As mentioned before, if you don't want it, I'll buy it and I already have one.

Yeah I figured I should buy it at that price.  Thats more than half off a basically brand new rod.  And If I don't like it I'm sure I could rid of it and probably make some money on it too... LOL.  My buddy said it is great for punching grass and c-rig but he didn't think it would a good frog rod.  I will try it out though anyway.

I think it will be a great frog rod for heavy slop.  I use a Mossyback BCFR894 for my frogs, and this rod works well in heavy cover.  In light cover, the BCFR954 might be a little bit of an overkill.

LCM has suggested many good Loomis rods to me when I first joined have never regretted buying what he suggested. Also a few others chimed in.

Great!  Most of its use will come at Guntersville flippin grass mats but if its a frog bite I want to be able to use if for that too.  I plan on putting a Curado 201 E7 on with 65# braid... I think it will be a sweet combo?

I have a Core 100MgFV on mine, but I think a Curado 201E7 will be nice.  Let us know how it feels when you pull out that 8 lb. bass from the grass with it.
