Thanks to all who responded to my search for a shakey/dropshot rod. I was set to purchase from ***, but occasionally I like to keep my money local. There is a US Bass shop not too far away and while there yesterday I chose a rod made by AllPro Rods. I'd never seen them, but they're headquartered right here in Tennessee. (They have a website)

I chose their new APR-EL model, 6'10"MH, rated for 3/16-5/8oz and 8-15lb line. The rods are designed and made here in the USA (a plus). At $149, it was a little more than I wanted to spend, but the rod feels good and I'm sure it will do the job nicely. It will be paired with a new Shimano Sahara FD reel spooled with PowerPro 20lb braid and 10lb leader. Once I get a chance to fish it, I'll post on it again. 8-)

Good deal finding a rod you'll enjoy. I like to keep my money as local as possible, but with these online retailers giving such great deals its hard to sometimes.

A little fact of small, local business.

$0.45 to every $1.00 stays in its local economy.
