gamakatsu g-stinger

Featured Replies

does anybody have any pro's or con's to weight-in on these? I'm considering getting some of these as spinnerbait trailer hooks.

I would only use them in open water as being on the braid hoop would mean they could "flop" around abit and catch some grass or wood. I have some but use them for other riggings. Hope this helps.

I have used them as trailers for the last year or so. I like them better than traditional trailer hooks because they stay in place. I have not had much problems with them snagging any more than other trailer hooks. I use them on spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits and Chatterbaits. But my favorite use for them is on Flukes and Horny Toad type frogs. I attach them to the EWG hook then skin hook it to the tail of the Fluke or one leg of a frog bait. Because it's attached by a cord it dose not effect the action of the bait. Do a search, I know there are sites on the web that show how to rig the G-Stinger to different baits. I have found that the 1/0 size works the best for most applications.

Good Luck!
