I am looking to get a Rod for this reel, and im not sure what i am looking for. I know that i want something not to heavy duty, i want to be able to have a lot of flexability in the rod, meaning i want to be able to feel every whip of the crank bait. The problem with the big rods i feel, is you cant really feel whats going on in the water. my price range would be up to $150 for a rod.

P.S. What do you guys think of the SPRO BBZ-1? I am looking to get one but am not sure of what color would be good for my area, (MA- Northeast- Pond/lake fishing have had luck with Shad color baits)

What do you guys think about this swim bait?

I'd head to Foxborough and try the JM on those rods. I like my C-sticks but I have lighter reels than the JM on them.  The Carbonlite looks really really tempting though.

As for the Spro, in your area get a Floater in Perch and a Fast Sink in Perch or Hearing (? the shiny one).

For $100 to $150 there are a lot of nice rods available, especially if you look for discounts & sales.  Rather than focusing upon a brand or line of rods, you should first consider what techniques you will use most often.  Make sure the model you get is well suited for your intended techniques.  For example, a $200 medium power crankbait rod that is ideal for 1/4 oz baits will not be suitable for 8" swimbaits.  On the other hand, a heavy swimbait rod will not perform well will light crankbaits.

Yea a buddy of mine just got the carbonlite and said it feels amazing (though has yet to use it because of blizzard conditions) So I was leaning towards that one anyway, i also read that for the price of the Carbonlite you cant go wrong.

I'm heading to Foxboro this week sometime so I will test out the rods, just thought i would get some tips before heading there.

Take a look at the veritas or the verdict(if they have one).  I have never had any interest in a abu rod till I handled a veritas yesterday and now I want one. 

I've owned a Dobyns ch.,  Kistler helium II,  G loomis and other high end rods.  I haven't fished a veritas yet so I can't do a real comparison,  but I wil be getting one to try. 

If you didn't know the price,  you would never guess they are $99 after handling one.
