How deep do Shad Raps dive?

Featured Replies

Specifically the SR05, SR07, and SR08 models. Also, do they have rattles?

The Rapala Shad Rap SR05, SR07, and SR08 all run between 4ft. to 15 ft. I just got off the phone with basspro, and yes, the shad raps have rattles.

shad raps run 4 to 15 foot range and no they most definitley do not have rattles. maybe you are thinking of the glass shad rap, which is made of clear plastic and rattles.

Wow, 4-16 feet. So I only need one crankbait to fish the whole lake!  ;)

But seriously, all of the models can't really have that big of a depth range can they?

no they dive progressivley deeper the bigger they are. like a SR05 will dive about 4-6 feet and the SR07 dives about 6-9 feet and the SR08 dives about 9-12 feet. you get the picture.

No rattles in the origional Shad Raps. They are balsa baits.

The shad rap RS is a plastic model with a rattle and different paint schemes.Diving depths are the same as with the standard shad rap in the same sizes.

The diving depth is listed on the box for each. The lower number is the average depth on an average cast with approx 10lb line or equivalent dia.The higher number is normally to give you an idea of what it will do if trolled.
