Sunline Machinegun Cast

Featured Replies

Most of us have seen the Machinegun Cast commercial, but has anyone tried it? I got a spool of the 12# just to try it out. It's pricey for mono ($20 for 165 yards), but it seems like really good line. I can't wait for some warmer water so I can actually fish with it.

Tackletour did not give a favorable review of this line. That being said I always like reading reviews before I buy.

Please post a review when you have a chance to use it.

I just read the Tackletour review. You're right, it wasn't too favorable. Now for my next question... Why do Tackletour and Tackle Warehouse both refer to it as copolymer when the spool I have clearly says "High Potential Nylon Monofilament Casting Line" on the box?

Not sure, I thought that it was a Copoly, too.

As far as the line goes, I've never had any luck with Sunline, at all.  I've tried a couple different lines several times.  No dice.

I have used MachineGun Cast in 16 and 20 lb tests for about 5 years with no problems.  I also use it for shallow cranking.  It's abrasion resistant around wood and rock. Has limited stretch and great sensitivity.

The 16 lb test is also the best line I have ever used for skipping jigs with a baitcasting reel.

I'm not sponsored or a field tester.  Pay for it right from my own pocket.

Reviews are good.  Personal experience is better.
