Fluoro Questions

Featured Replies

I have a few questions regarding this line as I have never used it.  Let me start by saying I use PP on almost everything and don't really have any issues, I just want to try fluoro mainly cuz I haven't.  Anyway, how is the abrasion resistance?  What pound test would you recommend for flippin timber (I do alot of this and have always had #50 braid)? rocks?  What applications would you use/not use it for?  Knots?  Castability?  Memory?

I did do a search and there is so much info I didn't feel like reading it all, sorry! ;D

Thanks for any information.

I use SeaGuar AbrazX in 15lbs test for flippin, when not using braid.  I use the palomar knot, while others will recommend different knots, I have never had any problems with it.  As long as you use KVD L&L you will be fine and as for castability it is great and it is very good for abrasion resistance.

Flipping heavy timber TBH I'd stick with the PP. Maybe spool up some 10-12# Flouro on one of your finesse setups and see how you like it. Buy a decent line so you don't have a horrid first experience. Good luck and just excrement with it. Its a very useful line for lots of applications.

I wouldn't recommend this.

I've been experimenting with fluoro a bit lately.  It's not bad.  I can certainly see a use for it.  You will have more sensitivity with it on a slack line presentation than you will with braid.  I'm not completely sold on it though.  From my experience, there are some castability issues, and the memory can be a bit aggravating at times.

Im with you man never used it before so I bought some to try out on a new setup I am trying.. 15 lb green tint Be testing at the lake this weekend hopefully
