Temple Fork Rods....

Featured Replies

Any one have any experience with these?  Says Gary Loomis gave his input or design on these.

Seems like a great deal at Cabelas for 100 bucks and a lifetime warranty...

There are a couple other threads where these were discussed.

Gary loomis did help design the rods, but they are not built using Gary's  North Fork Composite blanks.  From the other members reviews the rods aren't that sensitive are a tad heavy and are extreemly tip heavy.

Thanks for the input been searching the forums now...had IE problems for a few and wouldn't let me do a search so i posted instead.  Should be better than some rods though on the market right?  Kinda in a pinch for money right now....bought several guns over the last few months at shows and my new AR!!!  haha

VERY tip heavy. Had a chance to give all of them I wanted to a wiggle a few weeks ago at a local show. Not impressive at all. Very tip heavy even with a reel on. The cork isn't very good and the guides look cheap. Doesn't mean they are but that was the impression I got. Better rods for $99 out there.... Quantum Tour PT is now $99, BPS Carbonlite, Abu Veritas, St Croix Triumph/Premier or Mojo, Falcon Bucoo to name a few. Or buy used and get an Avid for around the same price be glad you did.

I didnt find them any more tip heavy than most $99 rod except maybe the Veritas. But it seems more rugged than the Veritas. No name guides are a turn off but they offer several shorter models, a plus since EVERY other manufacturer is ignoring that end of the market.
