I would like to hear from anyone that lives on or near to Table Rock Lake! I will pulling the pin in about a year and 11 mo.s. I bought land in Fisher Creek in Kimberling City. My wife and I just love the area and the people are so nice! The weather is much better and a long summer! I llove to fish around the Kimberling area. :)

I live a ways away but I fish BFLs and what not down there. I hear they have a bit of a theft problem. It's a nice lake, great fishing and alot of attractions around to keep you busy.  8-)

Yes it is a great place! We have been coming down there for about 15 years and fell in love with the area! Do they have any FLW clubs or tournaments on the Rock? I have fished the FLW and I really like the FLW format. I was down there about 5 years ago and they did have a theft problem then too, they would take your boat from the boat slips and tow them out into the main lake and strip them down and then let it float down the lake! >:) i was told that the cops had them traped in a bay one night but they got away. I have always had my boat at a slip and never had a problem!

BFLs and they also had a tour event up there earlier this year. I'm sure there's a ton of clubs around.

I know that they have alot of the Pro Am tournaments. If they don't  have the FLW out there, I will have to start one! :)

That kind of theft is becoming more commonplace at all lakes, not just Table Rock.

And it may not get any better with all the people out of jobs.It is just too bad that people have to steal. And I am sure it is not just the Rock having these problems. :-/ :'( >:)

Table Rock Lake is a premier fishery. I live between Kimberling City and Springfield, about 45 min away.  I know you will be very happy. We have lots of great tournaments that come to Table Rock. The FLW and Bassmaster Weekend Series are at the top of the list, but we also have the Heartland Series, Joe Bass, and Anglers in Action that all have very respectable pay outs. Check out conservationcafe.com and go to the fishing section to look at upcoming tournaments, articles, and fishing reports. As for the theft in the area, it does happen but it is one of those things that we just have to keep fighting. All I can say is if a local fisherman around here ever caught anyone stealing from another fisherman's boat, it would be ugly.

Bigbassmo., thank you for the info on that site, that is a great site and just what I was looking for! When I retire down there in a year and 10 mo. ( who's counting? ;D ). I will have to take some time to get to know the Rock before I test the tournaments trail. Or maybe I could hook up with a good partner! I don't want to travel alot for tournaments, but fish the Rock,Shoals,Beaver. What tournament trail do you like? Or which would you suggest?

I live up the road a bit in Ozark.

A spot on The Rock would be sweet. My in-laws live on Beaver, so I do get the privilege of waking up there and fishing it often when we visit. I don't get to fish Table Rock as much these days due to working waaay too much, but it's a great lake. Like most locals, you'll probably come to like the colder weather, keeps the tourists away, and the fishing is still great, all Winter long. We don't ice up, either. ;D

All the White River Lakes fish pretty similar, you'll have some time to get used to them.

Yes, I can't wait to retire and fish year round and not have deal with hard water! We love the Kimberling area and my land is in Fisher Creek if you know were that is. Do you like Beaver better than the Rock?

No, It's kind of like having a couple of kids, you don't love one more than the other, but maybe you appreciate them for different things.

Beaver has Striper's, so that's interesting to mess around with when I'm down there. Table Rock has bigger fish as far as the Largemouth, Spots, and Smallmouths. I caught my best Largemouth out of Beaver two years ago- Just a tad over 5-pounds. A five-pounder on The Rock is nice, but nothing unusual. I mean, there's 5-pound Smallmouth in there, too. Monster Spots, also.

My favorite thing about both of them is the thing lot's of "traditional" bass guys hate- water clarity. I know one guy who thinks he's really hot stuff, and fishes some little night tournaments. He still uses bass gear from about 1983. Baitcaster with 12-pound mono, and a big full skirt jig'n'pig (blue-black of course). That can work, but mostly it's finesses jigs or shaky head worms. He makes fun of spinning gear, but gets beat every week by a couple of much more versatile, up to date younger guys. He blames the Conservation Department (he thinks there's not as many fish in the lake as there used to be) or the recreational boat traffic (scares the fish) when in reality, he just can't can't (or won't) keep up with what it takes to fish a highly pressured super-clear water environment.

I know right where you're at there in Fisher, I usually launch out of Mill Creek, right across the lake from your spot there. Good spot.

I have never fished Beaver. But I love fishing clear water lakes. As for your friend and all his reasons why he can't catch what others can. He is just saying I am not that good!!!!!! You are wright you have to keep up with all the new baits and tech.'s.
