rocky dropoff smallmouth fishing

Featured Replies

ok, there is lake red stone in wisconsin and a cliff lead into shore causing a huge rocky dropoff going from about 3 feet to 10 feet. ive also noticed that there is a huge branched of log in the water there. lately i have been using x-rap and spinners to catch smallmouth but i cant seem to land that much. im asking anyone what kind of lures would be good at this point in the lake.

I've fished that lake only a few times, I don't know the exact drop off you are talking about but I have had luck there.  My logs show mostly with tubes, 1/2 football jigs and T-Rigged senkos for smallies.  I see in my notes that the most recent time I was there (3 weeks ago) the fish were not aggressive at all and only hitting finesse rigs.

i have the same situation by me. i use tube baits, x-raps and wacky rigged senkos. i usually rig the tubes with 1/8 weights and rigged with a wide gap hook. good luck! 8-)
