Headed down there for a three week stint.  Was supposed to leave today, but have been delayed.  Anything in the area worth a shot?

Lake Jacksonville. good lake about 15 miles from rusk. loaded with docks and big bass.

What little I've been reading (didn't know where I was going until just today) that seems like a really cool non-typical East Texas lake.  Sounds like a winner in my book.  Would you happen to know of any boat rentals in the area?  I'm reasonably sure mine won't be coming with me.

No, but the guy that runs the little store on the road out of rusk to Palestine is a local guide. sorry, I can't remember the hwy number, but ask anyone how to go to Madelle and the little store about three miles out on the left is his. He is open every day except sunday.

Thanks for the heads up.  If my truck doesn't get here, it means that I'm flying down and my gear stays home.  I'm really hoping that my truck gets here in the next couple days.  I've been authorized from the "head shed" to tow my boat with a company vehicle as of 30 minutes ago.  I'm dying'.

If you do get to take your boat and get tired of Jacksonville, run over to Nacogdoches and give it a try.  Jacksonville is super clear, very little grass (as of a couple of years ago), and lots of boat docks.  Nac. is usually a little off color, tons of grass, pads and some TOADS reside there.  I don't think it's more than 30 minutes away, but I could be off a little.

Tons of grass as of last week.. i grew up 10 minutes from the lake site. Great idea to try it out. fish up the yellowbank or the loco arm. If you go let me know. Also, if you get the time i will be up there at least three days during the next three weeks or so and the back seat is open. Lots of double digit fish.
