Thomas Hill and Long Branch, MO.

Featured Replies

I've never really fished either of these lakes but I'm thinking I may head up to one or the other last minute this Saturday.

However I've been watching the MDC fishing reports and for the last two months every week it's always been the same for both lakes, High, Dingy and all species slow. I was wondering if anyone lived up in that area or if anyone has fished either of those lakes recently could tell me the status of either of the lakes.

In addition if I understand correctly both lakes have hybrid bass but I've never fished for them before, if someone who fishes these lakes could tell me how to locate them; I'd be most thankful.

I've never fished Long Branch and it looks good on a map and google earth, unfortunately, if you read the MDC fishing prospectus on LB the bass population there is always poor and overloaded with smaller fish that never seem to grow.

Thomas Hill is an OK lake. Most popular in the winter due to the warm water discharge from the power plant.

Can't help you with the hybrids.

Well I couldn't get free to go fishing this last weekend so I'll try and wiggle in a few hours for fishing this coming weekend.

Thanks for note on Long Branch having small bass maybe I'll just go hit a small conservation area lake instead.
