Wanted to pretty much sum up how we've been doing so far, lakes and ponds we fish include:East Twin lakes, Indian lake, Lake Wononscopomuc, Mudge Pond, Long Pond, and Wood creek

with the best luck so far being at East Twin, Mudge, and Indian have also been good as well..

 So far the bite has been average for this time of year, fish ranging from 1-5lbs. usually about 10 Bass a piece on average a night. Baits we are using so far include: Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, and 6-8" rubber worms, fishing in and around logs, weed lines, lily pads, any kind of shallow water/cover pretty much.

On a side note we have been doing very well using the rapala dt series CB's 2-4ft divers in baby bass, bluegill, and perch shades, and similar Bombers and Bandits.

 Seeing more and more fish on beds, so if we cant get a bite going dropping 6" weightless t-rigged worms in or around these beds usually will do the trick.. I know alot of people disagree with that and I'll probably get some crap for it, but it beats getting skunked if you gotta just get a couple out of your system.

So all said and done we've been having an average year so far, bite has slowed recently for obvious reasons, but not enough to keep me away!! Can't wait for some hot muggy summer nights to throw some topwater baits(my all time favorite lures)

If your not fishing a big full size Brush Hog on East Twin you are missing out on a lot of fish. Especially on that grassline directly across from the marina in front of the island. Nothing from Highland Lake in Winsted?

haha I had a brush hog in my hand last week there gettin ready to rig it then i changed my mind... guess i should have went with my instinct.

ive never really fished highland i've alway heard mixed reviews, plus east twin is about 2 miles up the road from my house, so i'm pretty much there all the time or mudge pond which is a trophy bass management lake.

any of you guys fish Colbrook River Lake up in that general area? It looks like there could be some prime smallie fishing there, but I only fished it from shore on Saturday. I was trout fishing the Farmington and decided to head up to take a few casts. 10 trout in about an hour on a little jerkbait, but no bass to be seen.

Wait until around the full moon periods in June and July. August is ok but they usually kill the grass by then. Fish late afternoon and as long through the night as you can.

Thanks man, I will do that. I absolutely love night fishing, so I can go out, catch the dusk bite, and fish til like midnight or something. Sounds like a good Friday night   Especially with my super secret magic night fishing bait.

Midnight??? Try 2 or 3. They fish clubbers out there in the summer from 6-2am, or 8-4am because it is such a good night pond. Forget everything you know when it comes to night fishing and just fish a jitterbug. Old school but it is a blast.
