NJ bass fishing is garbage

Although, most of the lakes in Ohio are rather poor too.  IMO ofcourse.

not the fisherman =) i do better than anyone else i know around here, im just saying compared to other states, NJ fishing sucks lol. Just for example the record bass here is only 10 lbs. 14 oz. I go up to maine and the smallest bass you'll catch is a lb and your catching 2-3 lbers left and right like sunnys and pulling out atleast one 4-5 lb'er or heavier everytime you go out. NJ is just over populated and im strictly catch and release unlike some people (illegal immigrants especially) ive seen clean whole ponds out. Not only that all the waters are over-fished. Only good spots left are farm ponds or any ponds on private property.

I would agree with you.  I'm in bergen county which is pretty densely populated.  I've noticed the fishing is worse than it was some 10 years ago.  People do keep a lot of the fish they catch or they keep them in a bucket and then throw them back when it's time to leave....I don't see the point in that.....I've also noticed that the waters are pretty heavily pressured but a lot of the fisherman do not know what they are doing.  People using bobbers and lures is one thing I see a lot.  I try to venture out toward NW NJ near the pennsylvania border.

It is called heavy pressure on small waters. In Maine, much less anglers and they are pursuing other species.

Didn't stop Ike,...quit whining, make the best with what you got!  We have a few Jersey guys here that do pretty well,........

remember,...more often than not, it's the driver, not the car or the track

Also, if you LEARN to fish where it's tough, it gives you a great advantage when you fish better water.  

I learned to ski in the east, when I moved out west where the skiing/snow is much more forgiving, I was far ahead of others who started the same time I did, but out west.  I learned on eastern ice.

same idea,....I learned my job at UPS during x-mas,...the rest of the year was cake.

learning in less than ideal conditions builds diversity and character.
