I would like to try something new this spring...swim jigs. I've never tried them but have seen a few tv shows recently & they look like it might be fun to try. I'd like some suggestions on what brand names and sizes to start with to use in March & April. I watched one show that had VanDam's swim jig. I was thinking of matching the swim jig up with a Strike King rage shad as a trailer. Any other trailer suggestions? Do you think this is a good combo to try in the spring?

i like the kvd swim jig but really i don't think theres much difference in any brand...for a trailer i found these chompers swimjig trails havent got to try them but they look real good

As long as it has an arrow-head type head design to come through cover easily and a quality hook I would fish with it. As for a trailer, I like a Buzzfrog or a Horny Toad because it makes decreases the fall rate of the jig and it moves some serious water.

It is a bait year round for covering water because it can be fished a ton of different ways and the fish don't see it too often.
