Dundalk, Maryland Bank Fishing Locations

Featured Replies

I live in the Dundalk area and have been fishing from the piers in the area, so when I got my license, I only got Bay Sport/Tidal. I had been planning on getting my Freshwater at some point (planning a couple Loch Raven boat rentals with my daughter and a colleague), but think I may need to do so sooner.

The evening bite on Bear Creek at Chesterwood Park seems to be pretty good...I'm just never there with my rod in good conditions. In the 1-2 hours before sunset I've heard and seen fish whack bugs on the surface every 5-10 minutes. I'm just always there when it's crazy windy or freezing cold.

I don't use live bait- I would prefer to fish actively than sit alone and stare at a bobber. (Is my perception of live bait fishing wrong?)

So I'm looking for other locations suitable from shore, that aren't too far away- perhaps ~30 minutes from Dundalk. I was looking at Google Maps and up the road in Essex is Sue Creek and Turkey Point Parks in Essex. Sue Creek looks like it might be the right place to find some fish. I hope to drive by sometime this week.

A search of the forums gave me Loch Raven and Centennial Lakes as good shore spots as well. Any other recommendations or tips from anyone that fishes the Dundalk shores?

i have had alot of good days and also boring days at cenn. lake.   from what i have found go early.

Yeah, fishing for bass at centennial lake is not easy but you can still catch them. Some spots are filled with crappie and trout fishmen, it will be impossible to fish if you dont get some action early in the morning.

I have been doing pretty good catching small mouth at a Patapsco, you might want to give that a try.

Where do you park in patapsco? I tried the park near 70 but it was closed whn i went there i think it was about 11:00 am on a tuesday.

I park at my friend's house, and it 15 minutes walk from the river.
