Featured Replies

Will be fishing early next week at Seneca lake in East/south east Ohio. Any tips, advice, tricks etc would be greatly appreciated.

What, not one person has information, honey hole etc they wish to share. I can not believe that no one hereon this forum has some insight to impart to a novice fisheman.

I've asked before in this section about lakes nearby seneca with little luck. i don't think many on here fish the finger lakes a lot

Have not fished there in over five years , my info wouldn't do you any good.

Thanks, put the trip off until next week, rain and low pressure and work got in the way. If I learn anything I post results.

Thanks anyways.

For starters, the initially post  request was about Seneca Lake in OHIO, NOT NEW York.tHIS LAKE WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED A FINGER LAKE. That classification is reserved for a few New York bodies of water

Hey birdy, I haven't fished there since last spring. I went with a buddy who knows the lake. He kept talkin about cadillac cove on the way down I was like sure what ever, but we fished it all day and had one of the best days of fishin i've had.(in Ohio) I would stop in the local tackle shop and ask what and where to fish.

Results from trip, caught walleye (up to 2 1/2 lbs), saugeye (fry only), white bass (up to 1 1/2 lbs), large mouth bass (up to 2 lbs), crappie both white and black, some of the largest blue gill I ever seen and channel cats (up to 2 1/2 lbs) and a shovel head, 36 inches long no weight, scale maxed out at 30 lbs. Will follow with some of the picks. All in all a fantastic place to fish , many unexpected catches, almost forgot, caught the Shovel head on 4 lb test, it was like catching a manhole cover.
