Anyone have any info on fishing the Merrimack river in the Nashua area?

I need to stay near Nashua due to time constraints, usually only a 3 hour window including travel.

I know i can put my boat in behind Greeley park ?

Its a huge river . should i go left towards Merrimack or right towards the Hudson / Nashua bridges?

large-mouth ? small-mouth ? anything-mouth ?

what should i try fishing with ?

I fished the merrimack on Sat and last week

Just past Lowell going into Dracut there is a suspended rock bed where the water is swirling. We were picking smallies off like hot cakes there.

Try taking a ride down rt 93

get off at exit 46 and head on rt 110 towards dracut/lowell, just after the motel on the right there is a "norms steak house" right past it on the left pull in behind there and there is a launch. 10 bucks though.

go to your right past the island, past the power lines, then you'll come up to the rocks in a couple minutes. From ramp to rocks with a trolling motor could take 15 min or so.Or just bash the shoreline a little as you go. Also fish under the 93 bridge and the island right before it which is just to the left of the ramp where you launch (2 min) hit that spot first

I have fished it through Lowell and up in Tyngsboro. there are large mouth and smallies in there. i haven't caught anything big in it yet. i haven't fished up in Nashua because i don't have a NH license yet. going to the spot he is talking about is going to be like a 30 min ride at least. i caught most of my fish on a shakey head.

the nashua section is full of smallies. ive never caught anything over a half pound but it is full of them.

I've fished here quite a bit and I agree with the above poster. Just Smallies and the occasional Bucket. Nothing too big, but still a lot of fun.

Another pretty good spot that not too many people fish is behind Stellos stadium, there is a trail that goes below the dam and you can fish all the way to the foot bridge that is behind Hannaford. I usually walk in the water. Mostly smaller Smallies, but I've caught a few 2lbr's. Good time.

I caught one LM 1.5lbr there a month ago, my partner said it's the first he has seen pulled from the river.

So LM are in there, but probably not many
