Elkhorn creek

Featured Replies

Just wondering if any of you Kentucky guys could tell me anything about this creek.I used to kayak the whitewater section 8-10 years ago. I herd the section below that is some pretty good smallmouth water. I guess my main question would be how wadeable is it at normal water level.Any other info would be great.

Any Frankfort Kentucky fishermen out there that have fished this creek. I live in indiana and would probably fish this creek once or twice a year, just to change it up a little.

Many areas can be wade fished. I have waded it 3 times this fall.  Caught plenty of fish on one trip and decent numbers on the other two trips.  I usually go near the fish hatchery.

I used to love floating down in a canoe, and now a kayak, fishing for smallmouth. You can catch dozens of little prizefighters in that creek. It's a stellar fishery. Well it used to be. I'm going, in August, for the first time in many years.
