MAINE ICE OUT REPORTS?

Featured Replies

Calling all fellow Mainiacs! Is there any Lakes in Maine with ice out? Got all my rods and reels cleaned and lube. Got my new trolling motor installed, I'm ready to go fishing but have no place to go yet!

Not sure on Maine but we're still iced out here... :D Still at least one week away.

Dying of cabin fever.

Took a ride today to check out a couple of my lakes. Couldn't even get to the first one, dang road into the landing is still snowed in too much to drive on :D The second one was a little more promissing there was open water about a half acre around the landing and the middle of the lake was looking real dark ;)

April first I'm strapping on my snowshoes and going to hike about a mile into one of my secret spots, I will catch a bass there!....AND THATS NO APRIL FOOLS JOKE 8-)

Its not gonna be like last year. Had already fished 3 different lakes by this time last year. At least 2 more weeks before anything will be ready in this area.

Tell me about it. I was catching bass in a lake on March 26 last year. Won't be long, if you think about it though, traditionally the ice doesn't go out until the second or third week of April. I think we just got spoiled with early ice out the last few years. B)
