Miami Peacock Bass

Featured Replies

I spent 2 days fishing down in Miami for Peacock Bass. In the 2 days we fished we caught over 20 peacock and 1 snook. I guess It's not to bad considering we only used artificial lures to catch them. Both days we fished the canals by Blue Lagoon. We saw a lot of tarpon rolling and mullet jumping. As much as we tried we couldnt get the tarpon to bite. ..... Cant wait until March/April when the Peacock start bedding.

Cool, what lures were you using?

Hey Irun

Where are you launching from near Blue Lagoon?

Where is the boat ramp?

Im up for some peacock bass action

hey glades--no need to go to miami, your backyard is just as good. i know of several lakes and canals in springs that are loaded with peacocks.

You can catch Peacock in the C14 which you could launch off of Rock Island.

Below is a map of Blue Lagoon.  It shows you where the boat ramp is.  I fish down there a lot.  I'll be down there tomorrow morning.  Hoping to have some new pics from tomorrows trip

Thanks guys.

Our club is looking for some new areas to fish since Holiday and Sawgrass are not to good right now. We talked about having a peacock bass TX and the lakes around Miami airport are well known. I am going to fish Blue Lagoon/canals next weekend. Thanks again for the map.

Boca, so are you going to tell me which neighborhood ponds/lakes in CS to fish?

There are alot of them. Im going to assume that they are close to the C14.

Sometimes the residents/communities dont like fisherman on their lawns.

Our club is the Sunrise Bass club.

Blue Lagoon was pretty hot today.  We caught 18 fish total today.  We fished from about 8:30 until about 1pm.  16 peacock and 2 largemouth.  We had 5 other fish on the line but never got them to the boat.  Good luck this weekend let me know how you make out.
