Boca,

Glad to hear you caught it good.  I did too.  The waves were as good as i could ask for.  Just like you said, long lines.  I surfed NSI in the morning and Bethune (South New Smyrna) by myself around noon. Had noodle arms and called it a day.  Caught it the next day at Patrick's Air Force Base in the morning before the wind switched.  The wind switched about 11 am up here. I imagine you had an extra couple hours of offshore being that you're south of me?

My range is New Smyrna Inlet to Sebastian Inlet unless there is a special occasion.  I generally hit the lesser known spots imbetween.  Tried typhoon lagoon once.  I think Costa Rica is a better bang for th buck.

Man that was a good weekend.  I Surfed 2 days and fished 3.  Caught 30+ waves and 11 bass.

right on. i have been to costa 5x, and i doubt i will ever go back. panama and nicaragua are by far better surf destinations with less crowds, cheaper and better surf. did the typhoon thing because it was a free ride and there were only three of us. going to istokpoga on saturday for my classic. i hope my fish are still there.

Lakewatch maps may give you some thoughts but don't use them for any navigation as a lot of them are very much incorrect. For example, the Stick Marsh map does not show the entire lake, nor are the depths reported even close to reality. I noted this on several maps of central Florida lakes.

George,

Could you point me in the direction of a good map for Stick Marsh / Farm 13?  I am going down there this Saturday and would like to do some homework before getting on the water.

There isn't any but it is relatively easy. The front side, (Stick Marsh), is flat and loaded with wood. present depth 6-7 feet.

The back side was a radish field so it is also flat. However there are old irrigation ditches that run north and south, and a major that runs east and west. The south end of the lake was fallow and is loaded with wood.

Present activity is in the south portion of the the Farm. Rattle traps, Senkos, and SwimSenkos have been doing the trick.

Thanks George,

Just to clarify and make sure I am not screwing up the terminology, the Fisherman's Shack/ Pump House line represents the major East - West canal. With the current high water, is safe to run on plane north of that canal? To go south of that canal line I should proceed with caution at idle due to submerged trees?

Correct: Draw a diagonal line from the fisherman's shack to the pump head on the east shore in your mind. Everthing south of that is idle country.

The fisherman's shack area no longer has a builiding: just a metal wall with large pump stanchions on it.
