buzz or spinner

Featured Replies

What do you guys prefer to use? a sipnner bait or buzz and what kind of water condition, from the boat, and from shore?

spinnerbaits i use most the time but there are allways the time when i will use buzz. i will use spinnerbaits mainly in gin clear to muddy, anytime of year, except for when there is ice on the water. and just experiment with retrives, colors, blades, etc.

now buzz baits i will use in stained water mostley. and mostly in the morning when the top bite is the best, unsless it is an overcast day.

hope this helps

thanks for the input...when out boat and fishing show was on in town there was a store that was go out of business and was clearing buzz and spinners out at .25 - $1 each so I have tons of them.

Also if your fishing low visibility water, stained to muddy, then a buzzbait will work throughout the day. I've read articles about Gary Klein and Rick Clunn doing this in the middle of the day with success and had to give it a try. I can say without a doubt that it is money in Fall.

Spinnerbaits are a very versatile lure. They can be used in all water conditions, all depths, and throughout the entire year. They also work well from the bank if you're a shore fisherman. Familiarize yourself with which color and blade combinations best suite the fishing conditions and go to town on em'.

I personally start fishing buzzbaits when the water temps hit the mid 50's and I keep throwing them until the late fall. I agree with the other posts on when to throw these baits but they can be used on bright days if you search out and fish shady banks and under/around docks or there is ample wind to cut down on light penetration. They also work well from the shore.

Hope this helps.
