Heading to Lake Russell with a friend in a month.  He's been before, but only fishes worms.  Fish should be hard pre-spawn by then (depending on weather), should I expect some good bed fishing?  

Any tips for locating fish?

Jerkbait, Jerkbait, Jerkbait. The lake is in great shape at only about two feet below full pull the last time I checked. It has plenty of Largemouth but it is full of nice spotted bass. There could be some spawners but I doubt it. Worms are a good bet but I would turn the Trolling Motor up on high and jerk points until I found some fish and then clean the point off with some jigs and plastics.
