Hey guys im new to these fourms and i must say i love them.

Iv been fishing holston and not haveing any luck at all... never been the first of the year fisherman anyways.

been throwing crankbait's, jig's spinerbait, and jerkbait .. had a little luck with spinerbait and jerkbait but not much at all.

water temp their now is 45early and 47 around 1pm to 2pm.. also talket to a few boaters out their and no one is doing anygood at all.

so if you could maybe throw some tips out to try i would appreciate it very much.

I guess you are reffering to South Holston Lake and not the river.  As far as the lake goes I most commonly reffer to it as The Dead Sea.  In a 100 mile radius it is absolutely the worst lake to try and fish and do any good.   Right now the Float and Fly is still about the go to on it, when the water warms more then a fluke or jerkbait off main lake points.   With the lake as low as it is I would concentrate more toward the dam end from the 421 bridge and down.

Our club has a tourny there next week and I won't be fishing it.
