Where are we at in the spawn cycle?

Featured Replies

How do I know where the Bass are at in the spawn cycle?  Also the shad and bluegill.

Specifically I fish the Occ Reservoir in NoVA, that info would help too, but moreso, I am hoping to understand how to spot the spawn cycles, patterns, and how to use them to my advantage.

Depending on your water temperature, the fish should be moving up.  Should be able to find a lot of dinks shallow.  With the full moon tomorrow, the first wave of spawners should be ripe for the picking this week.

Again, this is very water temperature dependent.  The cold front moving through today combined with a strong low pressure system centered in the Ohio Valley might push the water temps down a bit.
