My wife wants me to look into a trip to Harpers Ferry to do some fishing one weekend in June for a fathers day gift.  I need to coordinate with my son and his wife, I will most likely be looking at the weekend after fathers day.  

I have a couple of questions and hope I can get some help from members that fish out there.  Can I launch my bass boat there or should I plan on using a canoe?  Can we catch both smallies and lmbs there?  What are some good baits to use?  Should I consider a guide service.  Has anyone ever used River Riders Guide Service?  They charge $350 (for two people) for 8 hours on the water.

I haven't been fishing out of Harpers Ferry but i have been white water rafting.  I don't think the boat would be a very good idea as there are some big rocks and shallow areas.  I used River Riders for the white water rafting trip and thought they're prices were reasonable.  

Never fished it so, no info there on that. Sorry.  I did see a lot of guys wading and fly fishing though.
