Looking for Good Areas to Fish

Featured Replies

I have off all week this week and I am looking forward to spend every minute out on ANY body of water that is a decent fishery. I usually fish the Potomac but I am quite tired of not catching big bass. I want to catch a big bass I haven't been able to catch anything over 5 lbs. this year. I want a good place where I can put my 17' Nitro in. I don't care if it is a lake where you can only use a trolling motor I just want to catch some bass. So any suggestions would be great!!! I just want to have a fun week off. And if anyone wants to go with me I'm sure I will have a spare seat on my boat. Thank You ahead of time for any info you can provide me!!!

I am getting a used (new to me) boat this week and I will be using it on the Potomac.  I will be on the Potomac for the first time and will be looking for some help in locating bass on the river.  The consensus I am getting is that Matawoman Creek is the place to fish.  I would appreciate any helpin locating basson a river system.

Wish I could take another week off. Good Luck!

If you want an absolutely amazing and beautiful place to fish, try Lake Guntersville in Scottsboro, Al. It is the best bass fishing I have personally ever seen, and I have fished in a couple different states. The man made lake is full of hydrilla and milfoil so bass have lots of cover. Fishing these grass beds by throwing 10" ribbontail worms, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, YUM dingers, and basically any other lure will get you that 5 lber you want. I have been fishing Lake Guntersville for only about 3 years and am already hooked. the number of large fish found here are unbelievable. Me and my friends regularly catch 25-30 fish each trip with half ranging in the 3-5 pound range. If you check out the lakes tournament statistics, you'll see for yourself the number this lake produces daily. you'll need at least 25+ pounds to place in a tournament here. Anyways, I hope that you dont live so far away as to not try this lake. It is absolutely the best fish producer I have ever seen.
