Is anyone Striper fishing around Charlotte, NC

Featured Replies

I have been looking to get into striper fishing and I was wondering if anyone was looking for a fishing partner around Charlotte. I mostly fish ponds for bass or fish for reds in Charleston but I am looking for a good fight close to home so I don't have to drive to Charleston. If anyone would have some time to show me the ropes on striper fishing it would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone wants to go fish some ponds for bass let me know. I live in the Ballentyne area and have some spots in the Weddington/Waxhaw area.

I don't know about stripers. I have been a HUGE trout fishing guy for a while (linville, NC & Jefferson, NC). Finally broke down and bought a jon boat (they got some good deals on Tracker Jons in Kannapolis) and have been hitting Lake Wylie like crazy. Already found a nice couple of Bass holes on there.

Just scratched the surface of that lake though. There is so many places to fish it. I am mainly out of Gaston country though.
