pohick bay

Featured Replies

Anyone fish here? I hear it's good water for canoes and kayaks, but is the regional park the only place I can put it? If so, It looks like I'll be fishing big water unless I make a long run up the bay. Are there a ton of lilly pads and shallow water/good for buzzbaits and frogs in the mornin/what kind of fishing would I be doing here? Any info would be helpful. I'm just going there to take a friend fishing (his first time) since he lives close to that area and probably won't go back for another year if that.

I haven't been there since last summer but last year if you headed to the left of the boat ramp it used to be all hydrilla and lily pads.  I don't know if it is still like that this year.

thanks. anyone know if belmont bay or someplace else in the area would be good?

Belmont Bay at the mouth of the Occoquan river has some good bass fishing if you fish the grass mats and pads.  I am talking about the area over near the Fairfax Yacht Club.
