Bass Fishing In Tampa, FL

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of any lakes in Tampa that have good bass fishing where the public is allowed and that are big enough to walk the shoreline (I know some lakes are heavily wooded and don't have much open space to roam)? Any places you know of will be very helpful; I don't have a boat and am itchin' to go fishin'.

Tenoroc FMA in Lakeland is your best bet...or I have an empty seat sometimes..

Across the bay in Largo is a place called Walsingham Resevoir. Good catches come out of there on a regular basis and you can walk around 95% of the lake.

If you've got transportation, Lake Manatee State Recreation Area just south of you.  A little further south, Myakka State Park.  Closer to you Alafia Springs.  A good bet if your wanting to stay in town is to check the freshwater forum at paddle-fishing.com.  That site is mainly out of the Tampa area and there are alot of guys their who will direct you to local stuff.
