What are some Bass tournaments a 13 yr old could fish in? I got a friend hows got a kid who want to get into fishing tournaments. So in south fl. what are some, clubs a kid and his pa could get into to fish a tour?

thanks

You should really consider joining a local fishing club. They'll be able to point you to tournies as well as provide you with valuable tackle/lure tips specific to the bodies of water you're fishing.  Maybe a few of the guys here can point you to a good club in your area as I'm not from S. Florida.

Good luck!

I agree a club would be your best bet, lots of fun, a lot of them have a team set up, going in with a boat helps their always looking for more boaters.

As said above, the Fishers of Men Tournament Trail is outstanding.

Great guys and good competition.

Some clubs have age limitations so check with your state FLW or B.A.S.S. Federation and clarify their age requirements. Also find out about their Youth Programs where your son or daughter can fish against kids their own ages.

Some tackle shops have private tournaments so ask around.

Contact your local newspaper outdoor writer as he/she may know of some local tournaments.

Good luck and have fun.  :)

Most charity tourneys and local open tourneys are the team format where as long as kids fish with a parent or guardian it's ok.  My 12 year old daughter has been fishing tourneys on Kissimmee for over a year now.
