Help with Lake Anna

Featured Replies

Had to recently cancel a trip to Lake Gaston but replaced it with a full day of fishing at Lake Anna Tuesday, I've never fished that lake, any suggestions with lures/baits/colors etc...

I'm not sure what the water temps are up there but I'm sure the fish have started to move to the backs of the creeks.

I can't give you specific areas but I would suggest cranking and throwing rat-l-traps across secondary points, also go to the backs of creeks and burn a spinnerbait or square bill shallow crank across any shallow cover. Be on the lookout for schooling fish early and if you can get into a nice school of stripers then yer in for a treat.

Google...

"lake anna va fishing" for some reports.

See my PM.  ;)

Bring some 4" senkos and be ready to skip docks.  If you can find the tall shallow grass throw tubes/craws.

Thanks for the tips guys, Tuesday was not a good day of fishin', the bite was just not there, we tried everything in every color, seems the previous nights full moon may have had something to do with it, however we did get the best strikes off of shakey heads.
