Anyone with info on fishing Lake Gaston???  Lures, baits, colors etc...

Me and a buddy are taking his boat down there this coming Sunday and Monday.  Lookin' to get wore out by bass.

Lots and lots of grass,

Use a Sammy in the mornings, any color will do and work the points

Sinko green/pumpkin

Minus 1 in a blue and silver

Keep a 1/2 oz Rattletrap blue/silver handy for the schoolers

Just fished a tournament there Sunday. Winning weights were 12, 10.5, 9.5, 9 and then we had 6 1/2 lbs. We didn't get a limit, but we did alright.

Fish were in the grass, in mainlake pockets. Caught them on jigs, and trigs. No topwater action for us, but we stayed downlake. The water is Crystal clear, and I really think it's affecting the fishing. Alot of guys were catching them on weightless flukes overtop of the grass. Wish I tried that technique. Dropshots were doing good on Saturday, the bite wasn't there Sunday though.

i got a lake house up there.  only go there in the summers, but when i was there i caught a 9 lbs. bass back in my cove.  it was nice! used a bleedin shad crankbait.

Fishing has been picking up down on Gaston. They are moving shallower for the fall feed, and we were catching fish along rip rap walls and off secondary points.   Buzzbaits, carolina rigged brushhogs, and shaky heads were working out pretty well. We were finding fish in places that had greener grass than others.
