Wide Gap Hook Comparison--Photo

Featured Replies

Several years ago I made up a sheet of the various wide gap hooks that I've used past and present.

Decided to photograph it and post in case it is of value to others.

Not surprising there is a difference in the length and gape of hooks of the same indicated size among manufacturers.

Sorry, for some reason photo attachment did not work.  Don't know why--jpeg is only 56kb.

Why not upload the picture to a photo-hosting web site and show it to us that way?

Low, I hope you are able to get this posted, don't give up.

Isn't there a 25 post minimum to be able to upload photos?

I tried previously to  link it to a photo web hosting site but could not get it to take.  I've quite a bit of experience in posting photos to forums and I must be doing something wrong here.  I ended up posting the photo to the following link.

Hope that I'm not violating posting rules.  Don't want to get banned from this site as it is excellent.

Interesting.

The Gamakatsu appears to be the G-Lock as opposed to their standard extra-wide-gap.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

The gammie hooks are not G lock.  Either early last year or in late 2006 I noticed that gammie hook packages with the very same stock number (5841*) had hooks that had the more indented notch compared to the earlier hooks that had more slope.

Also, the G lock hook has a different shape than the EWG gammie. The stock number of the G hooks are 20441*

Sorry if I erred. This is what the standard EWG looks like, with the 90° offset.

The G-Lock has that angle.

I'm not familiar with the stock numbers. The pics are from Gammy's site.
