Question on timing for Guntersville locals

Featured Replies

I am planning my annual vacation to the big G in early May. We are going thu-sun like we do every year. We have been having lots of success going on the 10th thru 15th of May fishing shallow on the main lake. But this year the B.A.S.S. will be there on the 7th-10th and the big bass splash is the 16th and 17th. And would rather be there when no big events are happening. Tournaments are OK we fish small ones there sometimes on vacation just not a circus since catching fish is our first priority. We are thinking of going the 1st-4th of May instead but thats earlier than we ever went. Would this be a good time to go or does the bass fishing pick up better a week or two later. Again we like fishing shallow mainlake pockets not the deeper stuff.
