I'm going to Jekyll Island Georgia for a wedding this weekend, should I throw a rod in the truck? Any good bank or shore fishing available?

from what i remember, there is one freshwater pond on jekyll.  dunno if there is access to it or not.  saltwater is your best bet.  there is a pier on the northwest side of the island for fishing.

I cannot think of any fresh water on Jekyll that is not surrounded by a golf course. I am pretty sure they will not allow fishing there... if you wanted to risk it I suggest you wear a helmet. There is a salt water inlet/cove on the southwest side of the island that has plenty of jumping mullet in it. Probably a few sail cats and perhaps a redfish or two in there.
