Fishing in South Carolina

Featured Replies

I am going on a golfing trip with my dad to Daufuskie Island outside of Hilton Head later this month and he also wanted to go fishing on some of the local lakes on the courses. What kind of fish should we be targeting in this area and what should i be bringing with me to catch a few with my old man?

I have a Shimano spinning reel that I have usually used to go after smallies and such near DC and all the necessary lures to go along with that, but need to get a second rod and reel for my dad for fathers day too.

Any advice will help. Thanks everyone

there should be bass in them, watch out for gators also.   if it was me i would bring a spinning rod setup with a weightless trick worm, or a shaky head setup (3/16 or 1/4 oz.)  if you fish the trick worm weightless try white, if you go to the shaky head go with watermelon seed red flake or green pumpkin are usually a good place to start
