Lake Tuscaloosa

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

A few of us college guys from Troy U. are fishing U of Alabama's College Invitational in a few weeks. If anybody knows anything about this lake could you PM me. Thank You

Mottfia

TRY THE BLUFF BANKS ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE LOWER PART OF THE LAKE BY THE OLD RIVER CHANNEL.  LOT OF SPOTTED BASS THERE.   SHOULD BE GOOD IF WIND BLOWS RIGHT OR THERE IS ENOUGH WATER FLOWING OVER DAM TO CREATE CURRENT.    SMALL SHAD RAPS AND SHAKEY HEADS SHOULD BE THE DEAL THERE.

LARGEMOUTH WILL BE IN CREEKS OR UPRIVER.  FOCUS ON THE EMERGENT VEGETATION WITH DEEPER WATER IN FRONT OF IT.   TRY  FROGS OR BASSTRIX TYPE SWIMBAIT ON TOP EARLY AND FLIP/PITCHING LATER IN DAY.

LET US KNOW HOW YOU DO.

P.S. IF YOU HAVE TIME THE STRIPER/WIPER ACTION SHOULD START CRANKING UP IN THE RIVER BELOW THE DAMS ABOUT THIS TIME.

GOOD LUCK,

BAMA NATE

HEY MOTTFIA,

HOW DID YOU DO AND WHAT WERE THE WINNING PATTERNS?  I SAW WHERE A U OF A TEAM WON IT WITH A MONTEVALLO TEAM SECOND BUT I DID NOT SEE ANY DETAILS ON HOW THEY CAUGHT THEM.

I went to the weigh in on sunday at woods-n-water almost all teams said frog in the morning and swimming a jig after the sun came up.  Alot of teams did not have but one or two fish I think the winnning team was the only one to have a limit(that is the second day, not sure about sat.)
