Georgias Lake Jackson

Featured Replies

Is there a tougher lake to fish in the state of Georgia?   I would really like to know.  Jackson is just brutual right now for bass fishing.  Your lucky to catch a bass over a half pound.  It is a very small lake and boat traffic is insane on the weekends.

Does anybody have success on that lake and what are some of your tactics?

I fish it alot. The fish in my picture is a Jackson Spotted Bass. You have got to go deep. Fish the long main lake points and the humps and ledges. Also skipping deep docks works great as well.

Gotta ask the question... Have you ever fished Blackshear? I have yet to make it to Jackson so I cannot be sure with any real confidence... but I am willing to bet a six pack that Blackshear is tougher to fish than Jackson. I have talked with people is several local clubs and they all still fish Jackson (albeit in spring) but every club that I know has removed Blackshear from there 'lakes to fish' list.
