When going from Fredericksburg to Richmond on Rt.1 you pass over the North Anna, Matta, and the Po Rivers. I was wondering if anyone has ever fished these rivers in the vicinity with any success.

the po the ni and the matta all connect to form the mattaponi, but i've fished the matta and the poni, decent fishing.  we used small minnows and night crawlers to land largemouth bass (they're not very big) and lots of different sunfish.  rockbass brim and fish like that.  you can also catch bowfin out of the river, gotta use steel leaders though.  but the poni is pretty fun for fishing for panfish.
