I've been craving to catch a smallmouth lately so I found a couple spots on google maps or w/e to find a good spot on the river to fish besides the river park but every spot i found was private. Anybody know any good spots to bank fish at the river that you can catch smallies? I live in the pfafftown/lewisville area. Thanks!

Donnaha Park- Below the highway 67 bridge on the Forsyth/Yadkin line.

River Islands Park- Pilot Mountain state park on the Yadkin/Surry line.

My family has private river land between Donnaha and the River Islands park. Most people float from the River Islands park to the Donnaha park. I wade fish inbetween.

Yeah i've floated it before with friends but didn't fish while floating. I think i remember you saying you waded in it before. But I'll check those out thanks a lot!

One thing to remember....

High and muddy water doesn't work well with the smallmouth bite. You won't be able to wade very far if its high. You can check this link for current discharge. When its low, you better go!
