Featured Replies

New to GA and Plan on fishing Lake Oconee. All tips on where and what is working appreciated. I have been out a few times  without much luck.

Oconee is my favorite lake. I've won several tournaments there over the years.

First of all you need to know how to fish docks and sea walls. Oconee is a great pattern lake. Once you key in on the deapth and what types of docks they are holding on then you have just about won the battle. PM me and we'll discuss this some more.

At my last club tourney held on Oconee I managed to get second place pitching to deeper docks with small plastics. The winner threw a Carolina rig all day. For me it is either hit or miss on that lake. Either I catch fish all day long or I struggle to get any in the livewell. I have never caught any of the big fish that come out of Oconee... but I have seen a few for sure. Besides maybe West Point, the biggest fish caught in our club seem to come from Oconee.

Good luck
